on the way to pvg airport, not sure whether I’ve been in china for too long, but singapore seems like a faraway concept already. just the thought of being away from shanghai for over a week seems like forever.

yesterday was interesting. raining in shanghai was not.

while waiting in the lobby for the doorman to get a cab from the quiet road outside, i bumped into MY (who just moved into my block) carrying a big suitcase. MY and RT are going to hk this weekend!!!

it feels strange that there will be at least 10 singaporeans living in shanghai travelling to hk this weekend to party up and what not. MY, RT, joey, shan, brother ben, SQ & friend.

just like our perception of money is warped in shanghai, so is our perception of weather.

MY: babe, i have no idea what to wear anymore. hk is 20 degrees, shanghai is 14, but it feels like minus.

sigh. true. but it also means we are immuned to the cold. t-shirts and shorts here we come!!!

last night was spent at 木村 despite violent objections from sushipanda. en route, bumped into snus-brother on his way to meet hisako for katsu-don at another restaurant.

seems like sake is the choice potion this week

dinner with people from the same industry made me realise how much i gotta learn about the real estate mechanics. totally fascinated by jchang and jzhou. going on and on about this deal, that deal, this person, that person and market dynamics here there everywhere (not limited to china).

jchang and i walked home arm in arm for support given that we were just a block-and-half away from my place, and that we were both slightly physically challenged, jchang less so.

it's always good to know that there are people watching out for each other in the shanghai tang.

in the spirit of blogging unnecessarily and excessively (just because i got a new blog address), here's something from oct 03. omg.

apparently 'the perfect man' then was:

wow hasn't changed much since, has it?

dinner with ed last night was a bit of an adventure. he met me at the hospital while i was getting jabbed by the nurse, and was a total sweetheart helping me with bag/coat/laptop. he must've overheard me telling mom what doctor bao said: 'uh..basically for the next three months u shall do no exercise, carry nothing, and just be a 少奶奶/太太. else u will need surgery' *what a threat. but i like his taiwanese gangsta style*

anyway. we headed for Ou-Kura flagship store. shockers, they didn't have seats, so they moved us to a private room in their second restaurant about 10 minutes cab ride away. surreal getting out of the shanghai CBD, both of us were lost in changning district.

but dinner was so fabulous, no-expense-spared sashimi platter, steamed hairy crab, tofu layered with mushrooms & okra, preserved seafood platter, miso eggplant, sake (yes the doc said i can have a glass or two) etc.

awesome company, we did this career building exercise: write down several things that matter in your life and circle it. like this:

amazing how much we have in common. content AND handwriting.

(yes. i made him write 'Vivian is very pretty' too. hahahahahahahaha. taiwanese gangsta style.)
